Why it is in the cupboard

From Giulia

I only put a thing on this shelf after I have lived with it long enough to know what annoys me about it.

A filter is only doing its job while it still has room to hold things. After about six months of daily running it is full, and a full filter is just an expensive piece of paper the fan has to push against.

So I keep a spare in the cupboard. Not because anyone needs to be sold twice, but because the day the light comes on is never a convenient day to go looking.

These are sealed one at a time. The carbon layer is the part that goes stale in open air, and there is no sense paying for something that quietly stopped working while it sat on a shelf.

Questions readers ask
Will these fit another brand of purifier?

No. They are cut for The Quiet Room and nothing else. Fitting a filter that does not seal properly lets air bypass it entirely.

How do I know when to change it?

The indicator light on the purifier dial. If you would rather not wait for it, six months of daily running is the honest interval.

Do I need tools?

No. The base twists off by hand, the old filter lifts out, the new one drops in.
